Sarah Patricia DeBorde Counihan
March 22, 1920 - July 18, 2012
Sarah Patricia DeBorde Counihan, passed into eternal glory, Wednesday, July 18, 2012. The daughter of William T. DeBorde and Mary L. Rahilly, she was born March 22, 1920 and reared in the family home located at 440 Habersham Street. Mrs. Counihan attended Cathedral Day School and St. Vincent's Academy. She was a communicant of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Michael J. Counihan. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that truly loved her family.
Surviving are her brother, David V. DeBorde Rose; four sons and daughters-in-law, Michael III, Jerry Lisa, Dennis Linda, Brian Helen and six grandchildren, Michael III Sherry, Jeremy Haley, Shannon, Brian Jr. Jackie, John, Shaun Simmons Thea, Joseph Simmons and Dennis Counihan; great grandchildren, Kinley Simmons and Brian Counihan III and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2012 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist with The Reverend Patrick O'Brien, Celebrant.
Burial: Catholic Cemetery.
